Hola, this is Phil Travel YouTube channel. Today, I’m in Firgas, a small inland town of history and nature situated in the north of Gran Canaria, 20km by road from the capital Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Firgas town is well known for its water. I too a public bus Global from Arucas Bus Station to Firgas Bus Station. However, to get here, one can also take Global Bus line 204 from San Telmo Bus Station, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to Firgas Bus Station. The journey takes about an hour from Las Palmas and the bus ticket costs EUR2.85 per person per trip. Plaza de San Roque is located near Firgas Bus Station. In this square, one can find the small and beautiful Parish Church of San Roque and a ‘mirador’ (Mirador Plaza de San roque), the monument of San Juan de Ortega (the first patron of Firgas) and the Town Hall Building (a Neo-Canary style house built in the 1940s). The building of Cultural Centre, a former hotel or inn, was built in 1870. Currently, this building is used as Municipal Library, an exhibition hall and an Assembly Hall. Parque de Ganadero is a small park located near Plaza de San Roque. Here, one can find the old mill (Molino) and monument or sculpture of Firgas. The slightly hilly/sloppy Paseo de Gran Canaria and Paseo Canarias are the most picturesque pedestrianised streets in the town of Firgas. Along Paseo de Gran Canaria, there is a 30m long waterfall cascade and many beautiful shields and ceramic/tile benches. Along Paseo de Canarias, one can find the various maps of the Canary Islands.
