From Ideas to Action: Regional Perspectives on the Future of Urban Forestry in Canada

Presented by Tree Canada in collaboration with the Canadian Institute of Forestry / Institut forestier du Canada. How can we turn shared ideas into action for the future of urban forestry in Canada? 🌳 Following the 16th Canadian Urban Forest Conference in Québec City, members of the Canadian Urban Forest Network (CUFN) Advisory Committee came together to explore what’s next for urban forestry across the country. Bringing together perspectives from Atlantic Canada, Québec, Ontario, the Prairies and British Columbia, this interactive panel explored regional challenges, emerging priorities and opportunities for collaboration — from urban development and climate resilience to equity, tree supply and research. Facilitated by Dr. Adrina C. Bardekjian, the panel brought together regional and academic perspectives from across Canada, featuring Heba Jarrar, Anthony Daniel, Kim Statham, Kyla Maslaniec, Tina Fernandes and Dr. Danijela Puric-Mladenovic.
