HOPE IN THE HOLY LAND: THE SERIES | Episode 1 - Liberation or Occupation?

To better understand what happened on October 7, 2023, you have to understand what happened nearly a century earlier in Hebron. On August 23–24, 1929—long before the establishment of the modern State of Israel in 1948—Arab mobs attacked the ancient Jewish community of Hebron. Sixty-seven Jews were murdered, including women, children, and the elderly. Homes and businesses were looted, synagogues desecrated, and an entire Jewish community was driven from a city where Jews had lived for generations. In this eye-opening short film—“Liberation or Occupation?”—Todd Morehead meets Rabbi Yishai Fleisher in Hebron to confront a history that is too often forgotten, sanitized, or disconnected from the events of today. After watching this film, you will see that there is a straight line from August 23-24, 1929 to October 7, 2023 that is impossible to ignore.
