Our last day in Sukhothai! We started with sunrise at Wat Saphan Hin, a hilltop temple whose name means "stone bridge" and features a dramatic 12-meter standing Buddha visible from across the plain. It was worth the early-morning climb! Back on our bikes, we visited four more incredible temples: 🛕 Wat Si Chum – home to one of Thailand's most impressive Buddha images, a massive seated Buddha so large it fills the entire chamber of the mandapa that surrounds it 🛕 Wat Phra Phai Luang – one of Sukhothai's oldest temples, predating the kingdom itself and originally built as a Hindu shrine during the Khmer period 🛕 Wat Sorasak – a beautifully preserved temple known for its unique base decorated with 24 elephant sculptures supporting the central chedi 🛕 Wat Chang Lom – meaning "elephant encircled temple," this stunning chedi is surrounded by 36 elephant sculptures symbolizing strength and protection We wrapped up our final Sukhothai evening watching the sunset by a peaceful lake. Such a great way to wrap up our stay here! Shoutout to our editor @dvreky for this beautiful final episode in Sukhothai! #Sukhothai #SukhothaiHistoricalPark #WatSiChum #ThailandTemples #BackpackingThailand
