Araceli found her answer in Oaxaca — not by escaping the city for nature, but by weaving the two together. In this episode, she takes us through the life she's built: rainwater harvesting instead of city plumbing, dry composting toilets instead of waste, a syntropic farm she's tended for four years, and a rhythm of buying food from the people who grow it rather than a single store. She left a stable corporate job in Puebla because it no longer aligned with her values — and instead of chasing more, she built a life around tequio: the practice of showing up for others, knowing they'll show up for you. Her take on freedom isn't about having no responsibilities. It's the opposite — freedom, she says, comes from having all the information about your choices and the courage to own them anyway. Even the ants in a colony aren't "free" of their community — and neither are we. The question isn't how to escape our ties to each other and the earth, but how to live inside them well.
