We start our day exploring the breathtaking Kiyomizu-dera Temple before roaming the beautifully preserved wooden streets and traditional shops of Ninenzaka. If you love Japanese street food, you won't want to miss our stop at the viral Mochi Mochi shop—famous for its high-energy, traditional hand-pounding demonstrations and massive strawberry daifuku! As the sun goes down, we experience the serene beauty of Yasaka Shrine at night, fully illuminated by hundreds of glowing lanterns. Finally, we end the evening roaming the atmospheric, lantern-lit alleyways of the Gion district, soaking in the traditional Kyoto nightlife and keeping an eye out for hidden gems. Our Kyoto adventure also takes us to Fushimi Inari Taisha, where we hike through the famous red torii gates and explore the peaceful trails of Mount Inari in the rain. The beautiful shrines, candles, incense, and mountain scenery make the climb an unforgettable part of our journey. After the hike, we discover a family-run sushi restaurant near Fushimi Inari and enjoy an authentic Japanese sushi experience. We also try Wagyu, freshly squeezed orange juice, Japanese pickles, apple custard pastries, miso soup, and sweet Japanese strawberries along the way.
