Kalabhairaveshwara Matha: !

At 5 AM, as mist covers the hilltop and the fields of Mandya remain quiet, a unique spiritual tradition begins at the sacred presence of Kalabhairaveshwara. Here, even dogs receive prayers, respect and food as part of a meaningful daily practice. The Kalabhairaveshwara Matha Dog Worship tradition offers a beautiful example of compassion towards animals. Dogs are considered the divine vehicle of Lord Kalabhairava, and at this Matha, they are welcomed with devotion and care. At a time when stray dogs are often ignored or treated without kindness, this Matha follows a different path. The dogs are worshipped, offered food and treated with affection. This simple yet powerful practice sends a message that devotion is not limited to rituals inside temples but can also be expressed through kindness towards living beings. Mahamatha – Focus TV Digital Series takes you closer to this inspiring tradition, the spiritual atmosphere of the Matha and its message of compassion.
