Pompeya/Hugo Chinesta (1977)

Poema sinfónico para Banda Juvenil inspirado en la ciudad de Pompeya, ciudad del antiguo imperio romano ubicada en la región de Campania. La antigua Ciudad de Pompeya fue enterrada por la violenta erupción del volcán Vesubio, el 24 de agosto del año 79 d.C. La obra describe cinco aspectos de la ciudad y de su historia: la ciudad antigua, a la escuela de gladiadores, al templo de Isis, el Vesubio, y por último a la reconstrucción de la antigua Pompeya, en cuyas proximidades se levanta la actual ciudad de Pompeya. _________________________________________________________________ Symphonic poem for Youth Band, inspired by the city of Pompeii, city of the ancient Roman Empire, in the Campania region. The ancient city of Pompeii was buried by the violent eruption of the volcano Vesuvius, on August 24, 79 AD. The work describes five aspects of the city and its history: the ancient city, the gladiator school, the temple of Isis, the Vesuvius, and finally the reconstruction of ancient Pompeii, in whose vicinity stands the current city of Pompeii.
