Reaction/Comparison/Review - Randy And The Rainbows vs Blondie - Denise (Denis) - Doo-Wop Meets Punk

This is a reaction/comparison/review of Randy And The Rainbows and Blondie performing the song "Denise" or "Denis". Randy And The Rainbows recorded the song "Denise" in 1963 and landed a hit at number 10 on Billboards HOT 100 singles chart. The song is doo-wop magic with perfect harmonies. The rhythm section plays a danceable beat with the drummer adding fills and the bass player driving the melody. It is a wonderful song bringing back memories of a younger time. Blondie changes the songs title to "Denis" making it masculine French for their 1978 album "Plastic Letters". Instead of harmony, Debbie Harry sings the song solo with some double tracking. This cover version is very drum intensive with some wonderful organ licks. Blondie adds their punk/new wave flavor to the song! Enjoy ...
