It's raining sideways, the bus is waiting, and you're in the gutter, picking up a stranger's oranges. The fourteenth orange goes back in the bag, and something blue falls out of the sky. The driver's hand goes straight through it. Yours closes round it just fine. Inside is a brand-new umbrella.
Real life drops loot now. Finish something you didn't want to do, and a chime rings and a glowing box lands: grey, green, blue, purple, and gold, the legendary one. The small print: the more you hate the job, the rarer the drop. You've got sixty seconds to pick it up, and only your hand can. And the rarer it is, the further away it lands.
Day one feels like cheating. Then somebody presses record, twelve million people watch you clean bird mess off a minibus, and the bill arrives. Seven weeks from now, the rarest drop there is will land at the far end of Gull Point pier, two hundred metres away, with sixty seconds on the clock.
Across town, Mr Okafor pins up a new clipping. Fifteen strange days, and a yellow raincoat in every photo.
Dot the cat is hiding somewhere in this video (asleep, obviously). Did you spot her?

WATER SAFETY: if you ever see someone in trouble in the sea, don't go in. Call 999 (or your local emergency number) and ask for the Coastguard, tell them to lie back and float, and throw them something that floats. Walk, don't run, near the edge: wet stone and weed are slippery.
A like won't drop anything. Leave one anyway. Then tell us in the comments: the gold, or the ring?
