My First Elk Hunt | 7 Days in Wyoming’s Bighorn Mountains

Seven days. Three brothers. One elk tag. This was my first elk hunt, and we headed into Wyoming’s Bighorn Mountains expecting an early September hunt filled with bugles, miles, and hopefully an opportunity at a bull. We definitely got the miles. This film follows the full trip from packing and traveling to Wyoming, through our first few days hunting, searching for elk through thick timber, chasing the only bull we heard all week, finding more moose than elk, and eventually realizing this trip meant a lot more than whether we filled a tag. Early-season elk hunting turned out to be harder, slower, and a whole lot less predictable than I expected. But seven days in the mountains with my brothers also reminded me why the difficult trips are often the ones you remember most. This is the reality of our seven-day elk hunt in the Bighorn Mountains.
