Over 70% of England in drought as UK braces for fifth heatwave

More than two-thirds of England is now officially in drought after the Environment Agency declared another four English areas are in drought, along with the whole of Wales. And it's not letting up any time soon. Temperatures later this week are set to soar as high as 36C in the South East, meanwhile, more than 120 firefighters are battling to stop a heathland fire from spreading.
