Does Anyone Know Whose Cat This Is?

It has been following me home - and since it is so thin (I have been able to pick it up and it might weigh about 2#), I decided I should at least feed it something. It will demolish a 5.5oz. can of cat food in one sitting - something I've never seen any cat do before. It will then head for the cat chow when finished. It acts like a house cat as it definitely desperately wants IN, but it needs a vet check first, and a bath - and worming. If this is someone's pet, they must need help with cat food. This poor baby will lay down in the middle of the road, and it scares me to death - it's you cannot see it because it's so FLAT. Please help me find the owner (if it has one) and if it doesn't, help me find a permanent loving home for it. This is in Carroll, IA. When I go for my walk, it usually picks up my trail on South Walnut. We missed each other the last 2 nights and I was afraid something had happened to it - a coyote - a dog - a car...it's not safe for your pets to be outside. (I should also note there is a gray tabby that comes around at night as well)
