Welcome to Sardesai Wada, Kasba - a broken, overgrown ruin in a small village of Sangameshwar, Ratnagiri that looks ordinary, but holds one of Konkan's most painful histories. In February 1689, betrayal led Mughal commander Muqarrab Khan to surround this Wada, where just 300 Maratha Mawales fought 10,000 Mughals to give Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Kavi Kalash a chance to escape.
