Larry Bird Was Right About Allen Iverson But Nobody Listened

He was six feet tall, about 165 pounds, with cornrows and tattoos in a league that wanted suits and smiles. The basketball world had already decided what he was. A thug. A ball hog. A kid who would never win anything that mattered. One of the most respected minds the sport has ever produced looked at the same player and saw something else entirely. He said the kid was misunderstood. And he made a prediction about exactly when everything would change, comparing him to the greatest of all time. Almost nobody took him seriously. He had no reason to defend a rival. He had just beaten him in the playoffs. He did it anyway, and kept doing it while the criticism got louder. Then the prediction started coming true, almost word for word.
