In this powerful episode of the Sushant Pradhan Podcast, Roman Gurung, an anti-drug campaigner and founder of Hope Giver Nepal, shares his deeply personal journey from addiction to recovery and dedicating his life to helping others overcome substance abuse. Roman talks about leaving Nepal for work in India, how he slowly became trapped in drug addiction, the devastating impact drugs had on his mental health, relationships, and future, and the lowest moments that pushed him toward self-harm. He also opens up about his time in jail, the harsh realities of prison life, and the life-changing realization that inspired him to rebuild himself. The conversation explores how drugs destroy lives, why so many young people fall into addiction, the drug network operating across borders, the importance of rehabilitation, mental health, family support, and the challenges recovering addicts face when trying to return to society. Roman also explains the mission of Hope Giver Nepal, the organization's awareness programs, and how people struggling with addiction can seek help.
