THREE MONTHS OF FLOODING MOLESON CREEK FARMERS SUFFER MAJOR LOSSES

Three months of heavy rainfall and flooding has left cash crop farmers in Moleson Creek, Region Six counting millions of dollars in losses. They are calling on the government to provide them with assistance but noted that this assistance must be given prior to the rainy season, so as to prevent major flooding. A few of the affected farmers spoke with the News Room and made several recommendations to the authorities on how to assist them during this time. The farmers also mentioned that the access road to the farmlands is in a deplorable state. As a result, they have to utilise a trench to get to their lands. The News Room understands that the Regional Democratic Council has since deployed a machine to assist the farmers and is also assessing the situation.
