The Revival of Festa Italiana, Year 2

In celebration of the second annual West Michigan Italian American Festival in Grand Rapids, Michigan, this documentary spotlights the influential men and women who serve as pillars of the local Italian American community. Through their stories, they reflect on the importance of preserving their heritage, honoring the generations who came before them, and ensuring that Italian American traditions continue to flourish. The film also highlights the current generation, whose members work tirelessly to carry forward the legacy their parents and grandparents built, culminating in the revival of the West Michigan Italian American Festival. After a 24 year hiatus and the West Michigan Italian Cultural Center 501c3 comprised of multi generations of italian American business and community members brought it back in 2025, welcoming more than 7,500 people from across the country to celebrate Italian American culture, traditions, and heritage. More than a celebration, this documentary is a testament to the resilience, pride, and enduring spirit of a community committed to preserving its identity for generations to come.
