Since ancient times, there have been people in the world who have passed down the secret songs, but no one to reveal their source, I believe. That is why I am attracted to the hidden charm of the music. A biwa player tried to play the biwa freely as an experiment. About ”Takuboku” Takuboku is the most mysterious of the three biwa tunes ("Takuboku," "Ryusen," and "Yoshinso"), and it is a unique piece of music with a special technique that is not found in any other solo biwa music. The sound based on the motif of the woodpecker is expressed in the secret technique of "Sanshunokoe," which is now lost in tradition. Mysterious stories are also told. About gaku-biwa Biwa used for gagaku (Japanese court music) is called “gaku-biwa” and the four-string biwa preserved in the repository Shosoin has been handed down to the present day in its original form. Since ancient times, people have been playing music with gaku-biwa to comfort and soothe people's minds in the world of the gods and spirits.
