Can a boring looking hotel actually turn out to be a unique cultural experience? I think this kind of hotel really can! If you're on a budget while travelling to Japan, you might have seen 'APA' hotels pop up on your booking app. You might have also thought; 'They look super boring and small', but wait - they might just surprise you! I didn't expect to film a review of this hotel room, but as a classic Scottish person, I care deeply about value and keeping my budget low, and this hotel really impressed me! From the 24hr onsen, gym, in room gadgets and efficient use of space, this hotel is classic for a reason, and as long as you can get used to a tiny bath or being nude in public, then it makes for a classic Japanese experience. I stayed in the APA hotel in Shinagawa, right next to the Sumo Wrestling Ring, and it had super convenient transport links within minutes of the hotel.
