Finally, a fight where I can reasonably fire off 1 HP Immolations. This run took 19 Turns and 2 HP Potions. Fight Spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
Hero Build: 200 INT 129 WIS 116 END
Dragon Build: 200 Protection 200 Fighting 200 Assistance
Archnalchemy: 8x HoT 8x Duration
As you can probably tell by the turn count, there is no second pImmolation. Keelhaul is taken out by rushing him down with Energy spam. Keelhaul's purge may sound like a threat, but it's used on T19 due to his Wind and Waves nuke delaying his rotation by one turn, allowing him to be cleanly taken out. Him being able to be taken out with Energy spam is also beneficial because he has a retaliate mechanic which would make him incredibly annoying to Immolate.
Infected Megabytes is equipped on T4 and T12 to catch all three stuns as the default build lacks the Immobility res for it, but nigh every other mechanic in this (really great) fight is ignored. Duskbolt gets to set up one venom (which gets purged shortly after) before dying, and Keelhaul's Wind and Waves buff is irrelevant because he only gets two attacks under it. Duskbolt's Brutal Pierce (-100 MS) is also a non-issue as it falls off before pImmolation.
That being said, I think it does raise an interesting conversation where finding a way to ignore a mechanic is just another creative way of dealing with it; I know Duskbolt's DoT spam and Catalytic Flow are bad, so I'll find a way to kill him before it. I know Keelhaul's purge is problematic, so I'll find a way to kill him before he purges saw, or get him to use it the turn saw expires (both in this case). I know Keelhaul's 50% nuke hits hard, so I'll empower Fire and have a larger mana barrier to facetank it, and potentially res stack it (which I didn't), then burst him down when he's not attacking. As such you will be targeted by other mechanics you'd otherwise avoid so you still have a few hurdles along the way even though you've beaten everything that ends you.
TL;DR Bosses that give free turns are Fleshweaver food.
