उत्तर प्रदेश के आगरा स्थित बापू नगर इलाके में सिंचाई विभाग की जमीन पर बने अवैध निर्माणों को हटाने के लिए प्रशासन ने सख्त कदम उठाए हैं। सिंचाई विभाग ने नहर की जमीन पर बने लगभग 200 पक्के मकानों को खाली करने का आदेश जारी किया है और सभी चिन्हित घरों के बाहर लाल निशान (रेड मार्किंग) लगा दिए हैं। नोटिस मिलते ही इलाके में हड़कंप मच गया है और महिलाएं अपने परिवारों के साथ घरों के बाहर अनिश्चितकालीन धरने पर बैठ गई हैं। स्थानीय निवासियों का कहना है कि वे पिछले 50 से 60 सालों से यहां रह रहे हैं और उनके पास नगर निगम के हाउस टैक्स तथा बिजली कनेक्शन की वैधानिक रसीदें मौजूद हैं। पीड़ितों का आरोप है कि 22 साल पहले भी सीमांकन कर निशान लगाए गए थे, लेकिन इतने सालों बाद अचानक बुलडोजर कार्रवाई की चेतावनी दी जा रही है। दूसरी ओर, सिंचाई विभाग का स्पष्ट रुख है कि सरकारी जमीन को हर हाल में खाली कराया जाएगा। Tensions have escalated in the Bapu Nagar locality of Agra, Uttar Pradesh, after the state Irrigation Department issued eviction notices to approximately 200 households situated on canal land. Authorities have marked the identified structures with red paint and issued warnings of imminent bulldozer demolition to clear illegal encroachments. In response, local women and families have launched sit-in protests outside their homes, claiming they have resided on the land for over 50 to 60 years and hold valid municipal house tax receipts and electricity connections. While residents questioned why the administration waited decades to enforce eviction after initially marking the boundary 22 years ago, the Irrigation Department maintains that state-owned land must be reclaimed.
