Americans React: Australia's Royal Flying Doctor Service | Flying Heroes

American React: Australia's Royal Flying Doctor Service | Flying Heroes We knew Australia was huge. We understood that getting medical care across that much land had to be complicated. What we did not understand was just how extraordinary the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia actually is. ✈️❤️ In this American reaction to the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS), we discover the story behind one of the world’s pioneering aeromedical services, created to bring doctors, emergency medical care and healthcare to people living across rural and remote Australia. From the earliest flights to improvised Outback airstrips, radio communication and communities helping aircraft land in the middle of nowhere, this story just kept getting better. And apparently we also needed another reminder that two Americans saying, “We definitely don’t have this in the US” with complete confidence can be a dangerous little game. 😂 Let’s just say we learned something. What really got us, though, was the heart behind it. The history of the RFDS, the people who built it, the communities it serves and the sheer logistics of providing medical care across the Australian Outback and remote Australia are genuinely remarkable. This was one of those Australian history videos where we started curious and ended up completely invested. If you’re Australian, we especially want to hear from you. Have you or someone you know ever had experience with the Flying Doctor Service, and what does the RFDS mean where you live? 👇🏻 About The Natasha & Debbie Show 👇🏻 Two Americans with an alarming tendency to confidently announce things five seconds before discovering we are completely wrong. At least we’re consistent, and apparently very teachable. 😂 🫦 The Natasha & Debbie Show 🫦 Come for the Flying Doctors, stay because Natasha and Debbie can somehow make even emergency aviation mildly inappropriate.
