Doda Witnesses Grand Rally on Maharaja Hari Singh’s Birth Anniversary.

A grand rally was organised by the Yuva Rajput Sabha in Doda on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji, with people from different communities coming together to pay tribute to the former Maharaja of Jammu & Kashmir and remember his contributions and legacy. Speaking on the occasion, Satish Kotwal, President of Sanatan Dharm Sabha Bhaderwah, said that Maharaja Hari Singh was not the Maharaja of any one community but belonged to people across castes and communities. He highlighted various social and administrative reforms associated with his rule, including measures against child marriage, steps towards opening temple access to communities that had faced restrictions, and the development of representative institutions in Jammu & Kashmir. Yuva Rajput Sabha District Doda President Anirudh Bhau also addressed the gathering and strongly opposed the remarks concerning the September 23 holiday commemorating Maharaja Hari Singh’s birth anniversary. In his statement, he referred to the concerned NC MLA as “uneducated” and questioned his understanding of Maharaja Hari Singh’s history. Anirudh Bhau said that the Yuva Rajput Sabha had played a role in the formation of the Sabha in 1932 and asserted that the community had struggled to secure the September 23 holiday. He further said that Maharaja Hari Singh’s legacy would not be allowed to be erased at any cost, while calling for continued recognition of his historical contributions. The rally served as a platform for speakers and participants to remember Maharaja Hari Singh’s role in the social, administrative and political history of Jammu & Kashmir and to emphasise the importance of preserving his legacy.
