Mother Gibbon Gives Birth to a White Baby... But One Slip Could Be Deadly | 4K Wildlife Documentary

High in the rainy forests of southern Indochina, a yellow-cheeked gibbon gives birth more than 30 meters above the ground, with nothing beneath her but air and leaves. Her newborn’s pale coat stands out against the wet bark, and from its very first hours it must hold on tightly to survive. In this 4K wildlife documentary, we follow one gibbon family through the rainy season: the morning duets that mark their territory, the search for ripe figs, a large raptor circling overhead, a python hidden on the forest floor, and a dangerous crossing over a wet gap where one slip could be deadly. Gibbons never build nests, so every feeding, nap, and journey happens on the mother’s body. Watch how the infant grows, changes colour, and starts to learn the canopy on its own.
