Japan Is Still Making Uncensored Anime… While the West Softens It

Japan is still making anime that takes real risks — mature themes, moral grey areas, and content that isn’t trying to be safe. Meanwhile, a lot of Western distribution and localization keeps sanding the edges off. In this video I look at what’s happening with the Summer 2026 season, using examples like: Chainsmoker Cat (Yani Neko) and its dual censored/uncensored versions Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2 Mushoku Tensei Season 3 I also talk about how major platforms like Crunchyroll and Netflix often present milder or adjusted versions of what Japan actually released, and why I prefer the original intent over filtered adaptations. Where do you stand? Do you want the most faithful version possible, even when it’s uncomfortable? Or do you think some of these changes are necessary? Drop your honest thoughts in the comments. If you enjoyed the video, hit like, share it, and subscribe for more gaming and anime coverage. Thanks for watching. Peace. #Anime #Localization #UncensoredAnime #AnimeNews #Otaku #Crunchyroll #Netflix
