Rejected Offer to Dream Build: Tony & Diane's Alicante Villa Tour

After a €95k offer is rejected, Tony and Diane build their own Alicante villa. Plus, powerlifter chocolatier Ian secures his Almería dream home for €177k. In Alicante, Manuel, Linda and Damon Rodriguez revisit Tony and Diane, who first searched with them back in 2017. Diane fell for a sleek, modern villa, while Tony eyed a three bed project in a quaint village. A third semi with a private pool looked great outside, but felt too tight inside. Their €95,000 bid on the project, listed at €135,000 and with a previous €125,000 offer already refused, was turned down. So they changed course completely, spending €70,000 on land and €180,000 on a build to create exactly what they wanted. Five years on, they show off a bright open plan lounge diner, a fully equipped modern kitchen, motorised blinds, Z-beds for the grandkids, and a rooftop solarium with outdoor kitchen and a secret fridge. From coffee by the pool to sunsets on the terrace, they admit the only regret is not doing it sooner. Over in Almería, Sharon and Steve Garner catch up with Warrington sweethearts Eva and Ian. She is a former estate agent; he is a Guinness record powerlifter who makes handmade chocolates. With a €177,000 budget, they toured a rural villa with a big private pool that felt dark inside, a second home near Albox with a larger lounge but a kitchen that was still too small, and finally a detached villa in Los Carrascos. The third home delivered a bright, square kitchen, sunroom and quality finishes, even though the pool was a modest plunge. Eva negotiated hard: €165,000, then €170,000, before the sellers agreed at €177,000. Two years later, the couple have upgraded exteriors, live outdoors from breakfast to evening, and say the plunge pool is more than enough. Ian finishes a tray of chocolates for Sharon, then they all toast the view at a favorite local restaurant. Do they have any regrets?
