In this video, I take a ride on the 76 to Stamford Hill. Well, I kind of had to because the bus got curtailed (unsurprisingly).
I really wanted to do this route as I hadn't taken it in a long time but I didn't quite bear in mind just how bad the A10 can get during rush hour. I mean, as you can tell by the video length, this wasn't a particularly fast run or anything and most runs on the 76 are bound to be slow anyway because the A10 is pretty much a 20-zone, then you have quiet back roads which then emerges you into a busy Central London.
Either way, I still enjoyed riding the route for what it's worth. It was cool I got the front row of seats at the top as it meant I was able to capture the sunset in all its glory. Wasn't as good as a few weeks ago, though (I mean that probably means nothing to you as this video will probably get posted way after I actually filmed this).
I think TfL knows the A10 routes could do with some amending but they're just not dealing with it as they should to be honest. I think most of the routes should get more running time to account from just how bad the traffic conditions can get and also Central London painpoints but that's just my two cents.
Hope you enjoy.
Route 76 runs between Tottenham Hale, Bus Station and Waterloo, Lower Marsh. The route uses a full allocation of Routemasters and is operated out of Arriva London North's Stamford Hill (SF) Bus Garage.
