WILD CONGO | Where Only the Strongest Survive | Nature Animal Documentary. Deep in the Congo Basin, the second largest tropical rainforest on Earth, a green tower five stories tall hides one of the most dangerous ecosystems on the planet.
This wildlife documentary combines cinematic footage with educational storytelling. Our documentary reveals how every floor of the Congo rainforest has its own ruler and its own law, from the lightless forest floor to the treetops one hundred thirty feet above.
A forest elephant carves roads through the jungle and spreads the seeds of more than three hundred plant species. In the shadows of the middle canopy, a leopard waits for a herd of red river hogs. In the crown, chimpanzees hunt Angolan colobus monkeys with drivers, blockers and a catcher. On the ground, the Gaboon viper and the African rock python wait in silence. And along the elephant trails walks the western lowland gorilla, the most powerful animal in the forest, a giant that almost never needs to fight.

The Congo forest elephant is Critically Endangered, and with every elephant lost, hundreds of plant species lose the animal that carries their seeds. Ivory poaching, logging and mining for coltan and cobalt are pressing on the forest from every side, while the peatlands of the Cuvette Centrale hold an estimated thirty billion tons of carbon that matter far beyond Africa. Protecting the Congo Basin protects the whole living tower. Travellers who choose responsible gorilla trekking in the Republic of Congo or a guided rainforest safari in Central Africa help fund the rangers and communities who defend these forests every day.
All footage shows raw, unfiltered natural behavior with no human interference. Wild animals were filmed in their natural habitat for educational purposes.
