Game: The Lion King System: Sega Genesis Version: (World) This is the longplay of The Lion King, action and platform game developed by Walt Disney Computer Software and distributed by Virgin Interactive for various consoles. The game was released in 1994 on almost all consoles, and in 1995 on the Game Gear and NES (it was the last game on this console). The Lion King is based on the 1994 film of the same name, which was a massive success and became a timeless Disney classic. In the game, the character Simba must progress through various levels, following a storyline that stays very true to the movie—narrating the journey of young Simba, who, feeling guilty over the death of his father, King Mufasa, flees the kingdom unaware that the death was orchestrated by his uncle Scar to usurp power. You control Simba in this game; initially, he relies on roaring and jumping on enemies, gaining additional abilities once he reaches adulthood. There are two bars at the top of the screen: the one on the left is the roar meter, which must be fully charged for Simba's roar to be effective; on the right is the health bar, which depletes when Simba takes damage. Health can be restored by eating insects. They vary in shape, color, and size, but some rare insects (black ones) can actually harm Simba's health! At the start of the game, Simba is still a cub and must jump on enemies and use his roar or a rolling attack to defeat them, as well as solve puzzles. Once he reaches adulthood, in addition to his previous abilities, Simba gains the strength to use his claws and throw enemies from high places. It is a good game with solid graphics (though the SNES version looks better), music faithful to the film, and good speed (in this regard, the Sega Genesis version is superior). However, the game has a high difficulty level, especially during the final battle. This video was created by collecting all (or nearly all) possible insects, except for the black ones that harm Simba's health. I hope you enjoy the video.
