The bird has grey plumage, a curved bill with a small casque, a pale belly, and a long tail with white tips. It regurgitates berries and passes food through the cavity opening to its mate inside. During nesting, the female seals herself inside the tree hollow with a mixture of mud, droppings, and other material, leaving a narrow slit through which the male delivers food. The footage provides a close view of the hornbill's nesting behaviour and food delivery during the breeding period. #indiangreyhornbill #ocycerosbirostris #hornbill #hornbillnesting #birdfeeding #nestingbirds #indianbirds #birdbehaviour #wildlifeindia #birdwatching Indian grey hornbill, Ocyceros birostris, Indian grey hornbill nesting, hornbill feeding mate, hornbill regurgitating berries, hornbill nest cavity, hornbill breeding behaviour, male hornbill feeding female, tree cavity nesting birds, Indian bird wildlife footage An Indian Grey Hornbill (Ocyceros birostris) perched on a tree trunk above a nesting cavity. The hornbill regurgitates green plant material and places it into the cavity where its chicks are being raised. The material appears to consist of fresh leaves, possibly Neem. Some research has suggested that hornbills may use plant material in nests, but the specific claim that these leaves act as a fungicide should not be stated as certain without supporting evidence. #indiangreyhornbill #ocycerosbirostris #hornbill #hornbillnest #birdnest #nestingbirds #indianbirds #birdsofindia #birdbehavior #wildlifeindia Indian Grey Hornbill, Ocyceros birostris, Indian Grey Hornbill nest, hornbill nesting behaviour, hornbill nest cavity, Indian Grey Hornbill feeding nest.
