The Roles We Play: Child of God | Part 3
What does it look like to stop simply knowing you're a child of God and actually start living like one?
Throughout this series, we've explored the importance of understanding our identity, trusting God's process, recognizing the enemy's deception, and allowing our Heavenly Father to develop us into the people He created us to become.
Now, in the final part of The Roles We Play: Child of God, we bring the conversation together by focusing on what it means to walk out that identity in our everyday lives.
Being God's child doesn't mean we will never struggle, make mistakes, experience temptation, or go through difficult seasons. It means that through every season, we have a Father who loves us, corrects us, teaches us, develops us, and continually calls us back to Him.
At the same time, we have an enemy who would love nothing more than to keep us spiritually immature, distracted, confused about our identity, and disconnected from the Father.
The battle isn't only about what you believe.
It's about who you are becoming.
In this episode, we discuss:
-What it means to actually live as a child of God
-Moving from spiritual infancy toward spiritual maturity
-Why God's development process doesn't stop when life becomes difficult
-Learning to trust the Father even when you don't understand the process
-How our decisions reveal which voice we're allowing to influence us
-Recognizing the enemy's attempts to distract us from God's purpose
-Why correction and discipline can be evidence of God's love
-Taking responsibility for our spiritual growth
-How our identity as God's children should influence every other role we play
-Choosing God's path even when another path appears easier or more attractive
One of the greatest dangers we face isn't simply forgetting that God exists.
It's forgetting who we are because He exists.
When we lose sight of our identity, it becomes easier for the enemy to convince us to live beneath what God has called us to, chase things that were never meant to fulfill us, and walk paths that slowly move us away from our Father.
But when you truly understand whose you are, everything begins to change.
Your identity changes.
Your decisions change.
Your priorities change.
Your relationships change.
And eventually, the person you're becoming changes.
God isn't finished developing you. The question is whether you're willing to remain close enough to the Father to allow Him to complete the work He's doing in your life.
