I made this song because I wanted to put something real into words that I don’t always know how to say out loud. My sister and I don’t share the same blood, and we didn’t grow up in the same home, but that never mattered to me. What matters is what we built together through conversation, time, trust, and being there for each other in moments where it actually counted. Even if it started in a virtual world through VR, the connection we formed stopped feeling “virtual” a long time ago. This song is my way of honoring that bond. It’s about how family isn’t always something you’re born into—it can be something you recognize in someone when they show up for you, understand you, and stay even when things get heavy or complicated. It’s about choosing someone as family, over and over again, not because you have to, but because it feels right. I wrote it to reflect those late-night talks, the laughs, the struggles we’ve both shared, and the moments where just knowing the other person was there made things easier. It’s also about how people outside that bond might not understand it, especially when it exists in a digital space, but that doesn’t make it any less real to me. In the end, this song is just me saying: even if the world doesn’t label it as family, I do.
