🔍 SYMPTOMS OF BROKEN INTERNAL HOSE:
*You need this repair if:*
No steam coming out of mop head
Steam leaking from body/reservoir area
Hissing sound from upper unit (not mop head)
Water in tank but no steam at floor
Steam visible around handle or body joints
Mop powers on but doesn't steam properly
*Root cause:* Internal rubber hose split, cracked, or disconnected from heating chamber
💡 WHY THIS HAPPENS:
*Common failure causes:*
Age and heat cycles (rubber hardens, cracks)
Mineral deposits (hard water damages rubber)
Pressure buildup (weak points split)
Manufacturing defect (poor connection)
Normal wear (typical after 2-5 years of use)
*Typical lifespan before repair needed:* 500-1,000 uses or 2-5 years
🛠️ DISASSEMBLY & REPAIR STEPS:
*Repair Options:*
*OPTION A - Reconnect (if just disconnected):*
11. Clean both connection points
12. Push hose firmly onto fittings
13. Add small zip tie or clamp for security
*OPTION B - Replace hose (if split/cracked):*
14. Note hose size and length (buy replacement)
15. Disconnect old hose from both ends
16. Install new hose (heat-resistant silicone tubing)
17. Secure connections with clamps
*OPTION C - Seal split (temporary fix):*
18. Clean and dry split area completely
19. Wrap tightly with self-fusing silicone tape
20. Cover with heat-resistant tape
21. Note: Temporary fix, may fail again
*Hose specifications:*
Heat-resistant (steam = 212°F+)
Flexible silicone or rubber
Typical size: 3/8" or 1/2" inner diameter
Length: 4-8 inches (measure your old hose)
*Best option:* High-temp silicone tubing from hardware store ($5-10)
⚠️ SAFETY WARNINGS:
Always unplug before disassembly
Let cool completely (heating element = 200°F+)
Empty water tank (avoid spills)
Don't touch heating chamber (burns!)
Test outside first (check for leaks)
Use in ventilated area (steam burns possible)
🌊 PREVENT FUTURE FAILURES:
*Extend hose life:*
Use distilled water only (prevents mineral deposits)
Don't overfill tank (reduces pressure)
Let unit cool between uses
Descale heating chamber periodically (vinegar solution)
Store properly (upright, no pressure on hose)
Don't force steam if clogged (fix clog first)
*Proper maintenance = 5+ years of use!*
🔍 OTHER COMMON SHARK STEAM MOP PROBLEMS:
*If steam still doesn't work after hose repair:*
Clogged heating chamber (mineral deposits - descale with vinegar)
Failed heating element (rare, expensive to replace)
Blocked steam holes in mop head (clean with pin)
Faulty pump (may need replacement)
Electrical issue (check power connections)
