Bay Area's Full Sunday Morning Weather Forecast

My favorite part of being a meteorologist is explaining WHY the weather is happening, not just WHAT the weather is going to be...I am a scientist and studied atmospheric sciences in college so it's fun to put that knowledge to use! This week will feature relatively seasonable weather across the Bay Area, but it's not necessarily a typical weather set up. An area of low pressure will sit and spin counterclockwise off the California Coast basically all week long. An area of high pressure will build in from the desert southwest, spinning clockwise. The high and low will work together like a gear, allowing a southwesterly stream of moisture to persist through Friday. Some days will be warmer than others as the high pressure nudges north, but overall the marine layer will stay deep and keep the Bay Area relatively comfortable all week long!
