Knowing something intellectually is not the same as being able to actually change it.
Hasn't there been at least one moment when you just thought to yourself: "I know that what I'm doing is bad, unhealthy for me. I know that this is not bringing me closer to the life that I want for myself and yet I can't help myself. I just can't do anything different. I can't stop or if I do, I am unable to sustain that change."
And that is quite common. It shows up in all kinds of ways in all areas of life. It can be in the public life as it can be in the private sphere as well. It can be about habits, addictions, wanting to break out of familiar cycles, knowing that they're there, knowing they're not not healthy, and yet still being unable to do anything differently. This principle of "I know, I want to change but I can't and I don't know why" results in now I feel guilty and I feel ashamed because I am unable to change. This is quite a common feeling and I want to address it.
