Climate Action Africa: Lessons, Impact and Legacy Climate Action Africa (CAA) is a Government of Canada Expert Deployment Mechanism (EDM) funded by Global Affairs Canada and implemented by a consortium comprising Alinea International, Econoler and WSP in Canada. It connects Canadian and international climate expertise with needs identified by African governments and organisations, NGOs, CSOs. Through 42 technical assistance initiatives and 14 South–South exchanges, CAA supported climate governance, adaptation, mitigation and women’s climate leadership across Sub-Saharan Africa. Its approach combines practical technical support with opportunities for institutions and practitioners to exchange knowledge and learn from one another. As this project ends (November 2026) we reflect on the memories and the journey that made CAA a success. CAA responded to local climate priorities, strengthened institutions helping to meet Paris Agreement objectives. CAA demonstrated how technical assistance through partnership and access to climate finance can help sustain climate progress. Local communities across Sub-Saharan Africa and Canadian enterprises participating together to build resilience. Supporting effective climate action.
