A weekday drive around downtown Yogyakarta, Indonesia at sunset from Jalan Sudirman to Hos Cokroaminoto passed through Tugu Yogyakarta, Malioboro, Nol Km, and Alun-alun Utara. Yogyakarta is a bustling town of some half a million people and the most popular tourist destination on Java, largely thanks to its proximity to the temples of Borobudur and Prambanan. The town is a hub of art and education, offers some good shopping and has a wide range of tourist facilities. This city feels soothing and welcoming. As for nature, the region has various types of landscapes. That means visitors can explore both natural attractions and downtown freely during the visit. Tugu Monument is a well-known landmark located in the center of downtown Yogyakarta. Built by Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono VI, the top spire was originally a round sphere that represents the universe. During the colonial era, the spire was replaced with a golden cylinder. Because of its historical background, Tugu Yogyakarta has become a historical icon of the city. Malioboro is a major shopping street in Yogyakarta, the name is also used more generally for the neighborhood around the street. It lies the north-south axis in the line between Yogyakarta Kraton and Mount Merapi. Usually, tourists visit this site to buy local foods and souvenirs. Aside from shopping, visitors may find numerous famous places like Malioboro Mall, hotels, Bringharjo Market, Dagen, Vredeburg Fort, and much more. Titik Nol Kilometer is Kilometer Zero Point of the city and the location exactly is an intersection area located in Gondomanan sub-district. That area also features several famous landmarks like Serangan Umum Satu Maret Monument and Senisono Building. No wonder, everyone would notice it right away during the visit. In terms of tourism, people often visit it to enjoy a merry nuance and learn some history. Lots of locals often gather in that area, especially in the evening, after all. Alun-alun is a large, central, open lawn square common to villages, towns, and cities in Indonesia. Alun-alun Utara (Alun-alun Lor) is a square located in the north of Keraton Palace. Like the square in general, this location is also often a place for people to gather for various activities, including entertainment, government, and culture.
