SERMON FLASHBACK | I Can’t Give Up Now Because I Got a Seed in the Ground Preached October 17, 2013 Kelly Lake Church of God In Christ | Decatur, Georgia “Sons of the Bishop” Service Pastor Johnnie B. Porter — now Reverend Dr. Johnnie B. Porter Scripture: St. Luke 13:6–10 What do you do when you’ve planted the seed, but you’re still waiting to see something grow? In this sermon flashback, Pastor Johnnie B. Porter shares an encouraging message about faith, patience, and perseverance. Drawing from the account of the fig tree in Luke 13, this message reminds us of the importance of giving growth time and continuing to nurture what has been planted. An illustration from “Peep and the Big Wide World”—featuring a little beaver who plants a seed and grows impatient while waiting—brings this lesson close to home. Waiting can test our faith, especially when the results remain beneath the surface. If you’re weary in the waiting, let this message encourage you to keep believing, keep tending, and keep trusting God through the process. “I can’t give up now, because I got a seed in the ground!” Watch, share, and subscribe for more sermons and messages of faith.
