How Long Will a Car Turn Signal Bulb Really Last?

How many times can a car turn-signal bulb blink before it finally dies?
I decided to find out.
I built my own endurance test setup and put a brand-new automotive incandescent turn-signal bulb through a long-term test.
The bulb was tested at approximately 14.3 V and blinked at around 1 Hz, using a repeating pattern of different ON/OFF intervals designed to simulate more realistic usage rather than simply leaving it on continuously.
And the result?
700,000+ blinks before failure.
But I wasn't satisfied with just one test...
I also tested another brand-new bulb continuously at around 1 Hz as an endurance benchmark — and that one survived approximately 4,000,000 cycles!
The continuous test isn't meant to represent normal driving conditions. It's simply a way to see what the bulb can endure when subjected to constant cycling.
This is the first endurance test on the channel, and I plan to test many more things in the future.
