[4K] The Maximus Coaster at Crealy Theme Park & Resort, join us for an on ride POV as we race through ancient Rome on Devon’s first rollercoaster at one of the South West’s leading family theme parks. Maximus is a rollercoaster at Crealy Theme Park & Resort, delivering a fast paced and accessible thrill for families visiting Devon. Manufactured by Vekoma, the ride first opened on 22 July 2000 under the name Pastil Loco before being renamed Maximus in 2009. Standing at 8.5 metres tall with a track length of 207 metres, the coaster reaches speeds of up to 22 mph. To ride the Maximus Coaster, guests must be at least 92cm. Riders between 92cm and 110cm must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Crealy Theme Park & Resort, located near Exeter in Devon, is home to over 60 rides and attractions including rollercoasters, family rides, indoor play areas, animal experiences, and live shows. Opened in 1989 and operated by Maximum Fun Devon Limited, Crealy has been voted Devon’s best day out for eight consecutive years. Alongside Maximus, the park features Twister spinning rollercoaster, Tidal Wave log flume, Junior Driving School, Dino Jeeps, Safari Express, Flying Dutchman, and indoor attractions such as Adventure Zone and Jungle Journey. Sooty Land remains one of Crealy’s most popular themed areas, based on the iconic British television characters Sooty, Sweep, and Soo. The land includes Sooty’s Magic Bus, Sweep’s Flying Circus, Soo’s Sweet Balloon Ride, Izzy Wizzy Let’s Get Dizzy, and Sooty’s Big Top Showtime, along with the indoor pier building featuring themed attractions and dining. Later in 2026, Crealy will introduce two major new rides to its line up. Pirate’s Plummet, formerly Magma at Paultons Park, is being rethemed to fit the pirate area and will become the tallest ride in the South West once open. Rotor, a Zamperla Air Race attraction with a steampunk theme, will add a new aerial ride experience to the park. As of March 2026, both rides remain under development with no confirmed opening date. Crealy Resort offers on site accommodation including Luxury Hot Tub Lodges, Devon Hideaway Glamping, Safari Tents, Camping and Touring pitches, and Holiday Caravans, providing families with the option to extend their visit to Devon’s largest theme park.
