Prayers From Bad Places — Andrea Courtney | Original Christian Song

Prayers From Bad Places — Andrea Courtney | Original Christian Song Some prayers don’t happen in churches. Some happen on bathroom floors. Behind locked doors. In jail cells. In hospital rooms. In rehab beds. After funerals. In the middle of the night when the only words you can get out are: “God, please.” I started thinking about the Bible and realized something: some of the most powerful prayers weren’t prayed from comfortable places either. Jonah prayed from darkness. Daniel prayed with lions waiting. Paul and Silas praised God from prison. Jesus prayed in Gethsemane with His heart overwhelmed with sorrow. Maybe sacred doesn’t always mean safe. And maybe you don’t have to get yourself somewhere holy before God will hear you. One of my favorite lines I’ve written: “Sometimes ‘God, if You can hear me’ Is the beginning of a church.” This song doesn’t pretend I understand every painful thing that happens. I don’t. Sometimes the question really is: WHERE WERE YOU THEN? Faith doesn’t mean we’re forbidden from asking it. If you’re somewhere dark tonight and don’t know how to pray, don’t worry about finding beautiful words. Just talk. 🎵 Prayers From Bad Places ✍️ Andrea Courtney #PrayersFromBadPlaces #ChristianMusic #OriginalMusic #Faith #Recovery #Jesus #Grace #AndreaCourtney
