This commercial building had only two floors above ground, but had six stories of underground parking excavated right next to it in 2008, which served as the parking garage for the nearby Casino Bern due to the venue lacking its own parking for patrons. It was being served by two sets of elevators that had been installed at the same time as the excavation of the garage. These were machine-room-less installations that had been supplied by local elevator manufacturer EMCH, and came with Schaefer's MT 42 buttons alongside LED dot-matrix floor indicators. As the elevators were technically located between the above-ground structure and the garage, each cab had two sets of doors to reach both of them: the underground floors, which had been numbered with the prefix "U" (which stands for "Untergeschoss" meaning "basement" in German) followed by a number in descending order) alongside the ground floor (labeled "EG" for "Erdgeschoss", literally translating to "earth floor") were being served via the front door, while the rear door was used on the first floor (labeled "OG" for "Obergeschoss", or "upper floor"), opening right into the building. For some reason, the garage itself and the elevator/stairwell core seemed to have different ceiling heights, as the 3rd and 4th basements were being served via a single landing marked "U3/U4"; due to lack of space the floor indicator only displayed "U3". The ride quality was quite smooth, with an alright speed for the number of floors served.
