What does it take to maintain a friendship for 35 years? And how do you hold on to faith when life brings an unexpected cancer diagnosis? In this special Breast Cancer Awareness Month episode of Glow Up in Grace, I sit down with my dear friend of 35 years, Dr. Letitia Armour, for a heartfelt conversation about faith, friendship, loss, and breast cancer survival. Letitia and I met at Oral Roberts University in 1991, and this conversation felt less like a formal interview and more like two longtime girlfriends sitting together on the sofa, sharing memories, laughter, life lessons, and the faith that has sustained us through so many seasons. Letitia shares her personal breast cancer journey, including the loss of her mother to breast cancer, receiving her own diagnosis in 1995, why she initially kept her diagnosis private, and how prayer, Scripture, medical treatment, and her personal wellness practices became part of her experience. We also talk about loyalty, forgiveness, navigating differences, showing up for friends during grief, and learning to appreciate the gift of life. One of Letitia’s most memorable messages is: “Cancer is not a death sentence. It is a challenge.” My prayer is that this conversation encourages you to hold on to your faith, cherish meaningful friendships, and remember that you do not have to face life’s challenges without hope. In This Episode: The meaning of true friendship after 35 years Letitia’s breast cancer diagnosis and survival story Losing her mother and sister to cancer Why she kept her diagnosis private Finding strength through faith and Scripture Supporting friends through grief and loss Loving one another despite differences Gratitude, resilience, and living with purpose If this conversation encourages you, please like, share, subscribe, and join us for more conversations where faith meets the glow up.
