According to the FIR, the accused — Nihal alias Bekku, Umar and Abrahar — allegedly climbed onto the structure, displayed the flag and recorded the act. The video was later circulated on Instagram. Police stated that the incident had the potential to create tension between communities, promote hostility and disturb public order. The three accused have been booked under Sections 353(2), 196(1) and 197 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation into the incident is underway, according to Shivamogga Police.
