Argyle Beaten | A MASSIVE WAKE-UP CALL?

Five days after beating Exeter City, Plymouth Argyle were brought crashing back to earth by a 3-1 home defeat against Stockport County—and our panel believes it could have been even worse. Mark is joined by Chris Dixon and Rhys Moore to examine a concerning performance at Home Park. Why was Argyle’s passing so poor? Were Harvey White and Malachi Boateng left isolated in midfield? Did Tom Cleverley need to change the system—and where was Plan B? We also discuss whether Cleverley has been given enough backing, the sale of Lorent Tolaj to Bristol City, and where the goals will come from this season. The panel assesses the arrivals of Will Evans, Alex Mitchell and Alex Hartridge, while questioning Argyle’s pre-season programme and the financial pressures surrounding recruitment. Finally, we ask the big question: should Plymouth still expect a top-six finish, or would a season of consolidation now represent success? Let us know your verdict in the comments: ⚽ Does Tom Cleverley need more backing? ⚽ Do Argyle urgently need another striker? ⚽ Was the Stockport result merely a bad day—or a serious warning? ⚽ Where will Plymouth finish this season?
