Within just half an hour of initial statements, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) clarified its official stance regarding the Odisha Bandh call. BJD Opposition Chief Whip Pramila Mallik announced that the party will NOT support tomorrow's bandh called by the Congress party. Questioning the unilateral decision, Mallik stated that Congress did not consult BJD before declaring the shutdown. While BJD continues to demand Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar's resignation over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) issue, Pramila Mallik reiterated that BJD maintains an equal-distance policy from both major alliances and is not part of any coalition, remaining fully focused on protecting Odisha's interests independently.
