I needed to semi-permanently mount an OEM jumpseat in my Vanagon. My particular model of van is a “Weekender” so did not come with the jump seat or a kitchen like a Westfalia. I don’t want a kitchen, but the jump seat is almost necessary when you have kids and get trapped inside the van during rainy weather. I sourced one that matched my existing and original seats over 4 years ago from the now-closed NorthWesty shop and just hadn’t gotten around to putting it in. With the baby in the van, I need it to be safe and after the unmounted seat tipped over after a recent hard turn, I decided it was time to make it bombproof. I combined a little drafting, some light fabrication, some VW knowledge, a touch of enginerding, and a few dirty words to make an adaptor plate that securely mounts the seat. Win/Win This video is not sponsored in any way and I paid full price for all my hardware and the adaptor plate. I rave about little about SendCutSend, but they did not pay me to do so. I just love their service and they overachieve my expectations on almost every order.
