Negative Energy — Clip Description From the Basement Jams and Lyrics of 1979–1980 to new modern productions in 2026. “Negative Energy” began with an original 1979 jam featuring George Mazzola, Tony Schittina, and Ken Geringer—three musicians playing, experimenting, and letting the music go wherever it wanted to go. Nearly five decades later, I took that original jam and combined it with lyrics I wrote in 2026, using today’s production technology to help arrange and produce a completely new song while preserving the spirit and energy of the original performance. The lyrics explore negative and positive energy, the human soul, atoms and neutrons, shadow people, spirits, portals, other dimensions, and the mystery of what happens to our energy when the mortal form dies. The old wah-wah-driven jam became the perfect musical world for it—a meeting of 1979 and 2026, with the original musicians still at the heart of the recording.
