Skiing Aconcagua (December 2015)

This footage is from our December 2015 expedition to ski Aconcagua. We climbed the mountain from the side of Plaza Argentina via the normal route and the Candeleta. We descended the normal route on the other side to Plaza de Mulas, thus completing what is called the 360 degree route, by traveling on all sides of the mountain. Our skis were confiscated at 20,000ft in the high camp Colera by the Park Service because we refused to pay the $30,000 insurance fee for a special use permit. They were taken the day before our summit, which was Christmas Day. We were still able to ski between approximately 18,000ft and 14,000ft on both sides of the mountain.
